    IDENTIFIED: Man pulled from canal in Fresno

    FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – A man who was pulled from a canal in Fresno Thursday evening has been identified by the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.

    Fresno police say just before 8 p.m. on Thursday they responded to a report of a person in a canal near Dakota and Maroa Avenues.

    Man drowns in canal in Fresno, police say

    According to the coroner, 31-year-old Christopher Sandoval of Fresno was pulled from the canal and succumbed to his injuries.

    Investigators say it is unknown why Sandoval was in the canal but they do not suspect foul play as a factor.
