Man found in alley with gunshot wounds in the torso. He died at the scene, police say

Fresno police on Monday continued to investigate the fatal shooting of a man Sunday night in southwest Fresno.

Sgt. Felipe Uribe said the department learned of the incident just before 9 p.m. in the area of South Modoc Street and East Strother Avenue, where officers found a wounded man in an alley. He had been hit in the torso by more than one bullet. Officers also found bullet casings nearby.

Police and emergency workers administered first aid, but the victim died at the scene.

Arriving detectives launched a homicide investigation by searching for witnesses and evidence, but by Monday morning no suspects had been identified, Uribe said.
