AUBURN (WGME) -- Police say two Maine women were injured in a two-vehicle crash in Auburn on Tuesday. The crash happened around 6 a.m. on Washington Street. Police say a Ford Escape driven by a 77-year-old Lewiston woman was trying to cross Washington Street when she entered the path of a Hyundai Elantra driven by a 25-year-old Lewiston woman. Wells to vote on proposed pause for large-scale housing projects
WELLS, Maine — Voters will decide next month whether to put the brakes on large-scale housing developments in the community until the middle of October. The Wells Select Board recently set Tuesday, Aug. 6, for a special Town Meeting, during which a moratorium on proposed developments of 45 housing units or more will be the single issue on the ballot.

Sweetser's Child ACT Program aims to fill gap in youth mental health services
MAINE, USA — According to a federal report by the Department of Justice, Maine is lacking in community-based programs that address mental health problems in youth. In response to that report, the behavioral health nonprofit Sweetser launched the Child ACT Program earlier this year. It's the only one of its kind in the state right now and is working to fill gaps in care for people ages 5 to 20.
