GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) - This final full week of July is going to deliver another round of intense, July heat while cooling showers will be scarce at best. Wednesday and Thursday are the days most likely to top 100 degrees around the Grand Valley. Highs on Wednesday will range from around 100 degrees in Grand Junction to 103 degrees in Fruita. Highs on Thursday will be around 100-101 degree in and around Grand Junction and the rest of the Grand Valley.

Law enforcement recovered 220,000 pills after a vehicle pursuit along Interstate 70, according to a press release from the Mesa County Sheriff's Office. A deputy with the Mesa County Sheriff's Office attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling eastbound on I-70 near Fruita on Friday morning. The vehicle took off when the deputy exited his car. A man who forged keys out of silverware in order to steal mail from apartment mailboxes has been indicted on federal fraud charges.Adam Christopher Turner, 40, was arrested in May and indicted late last month by a federal grand jury.
