Severe thunderstorms passed through parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware Sunday afternoon into the evening. The storms ranged from strong to severe and hit our region between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. The storms started drying up in the city as we headed into the evening and overnight hours.
Salisbury Man Sentenced to 20 Years for Attempted Armed Robbery
SALISBURY, MD - A Wicomico County Circuit Court judge has sentenced a Salisbury man to 20 years behind bars for attempted armed robbery. Prosecutors say Joshua Satchell, 38, was part of a group that targeted and robbed a victim and his friends during a backyard barbecue in August, 2023. The victim attempted to flee and was shot in the back of the neck, paralyzing him. The Office of the State’s Attorney for Wicomico County says Satchell was not the suspect that fired the gun but was still a participant in the robbery.

VIRGINIA BEACH. VA (AP/CVILLE RIGHT NOW) —Maryland State Police have clarified because Virginia State Police were pursuing a vehicle in Virginia with a felony abduction suspect, Virginia State Police supervision authorized the pursuit continue across the Maryland state line. Maryland State Police Maj. Adam Stachurski said they are the lead investigative agency in the crash that ended the pursuit on I-495 at Branch Avenue in Prince George’s County, MD. He said they received a call for assistance from Virginia State Police and arrived about two minutes after the crash. Stuchurski said while one of the children was transported via helicopter to Children’s Medical Center in DC where he died a short time later, 36-year old Dana Plummer, who allegedly kidnapped the children from a Virginia Beach home, and the two other children were in stable condition at area hospitals.

Virginia Man Arrested After Stabbing Ex-Wife and Kidnapping Three Children. Amber Alert Issued for Dana Plummer Following Violent Attack and Abduction. According to True Crime News, a 36-year-old man, Dana Plummer, was arrested after a violent series of events that happened in two states. On August 14, Plummer allegedly stabbed his ex-wife and her 12-year-old daughter in Virginia Beach. Both were taken to the hospital and are now stable. After the stabbing, Dana Plummer took his three young children, including a 1-year-old baby. An Amber Alert was issued, and police started looking for him.
