LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, July 5, 2024) – After 35 years, Al Meshkin has decided to step away as Laketown Township’s manager. He gave notice of his intentions in a formal letter to the township board during a workshop session on Wednesday, indicating that he would retire from the post on January 3rd. During his tenure that began in 1990, Meshkin has seen the Lakeshore municipality acquire Wolters Woods, Sanctuary Woods, Huyser Farm and Shore Acres parks, along with the Felt Mansion. In addition, the township set up 12 miles of bike paths; built a new fire station; acquired more land for its beach; and added pickleball courts to the township hall park campus.
