A group of suspects led police on a cross-county pursuit after allegedly opening fire and running over a woman at the Fashion Island Mall.Newport Police Department detectives said the incident started at about 3:30 p.m. when the suspects robbed a 69-year-old woman from New Zealand and her husband outside the Barnes and Noble. Stolen truck spins out of control during chase in Boyle Heights area
The driver of a stolen utility truck was arrested Monday following a dangerous chase in the Boyle Heights area.The chase started sometime around 7:30 p.m. as deputies observed a white box truck that was reportedly stolen.AIR7 was above the pursuit as it was making its way through surface streets in the East Los Angeles area, with the suspect fleeing for several minutes.Suddenly, the suspect spun out of control and came to a stop near Indiana Street in Boyle Heights where he was quickly taken into custody.The incident remains under investigation.

LA County sheriff's deputies go undercover to bust illegal fireworks sellers
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department has already made more than 10 illegal fireworks busts over the past week, with more expected before the end of the Fourth of July holiday.Eyewitness News was present in Lakewood Monday for one of the stings, which resulted in the arrest of a man and woman who allegedly tried to sell fireworks to an undercover officer."Do not sell these fireworks," L.A. County sheriff's Capt. Daniel Holguin said. "Don't get involved in illegal fireworks.
