Nickel Plate Trail Getting Extension Through Rochester After 11 years
ROCHESTER — Those using the Nickel Plate Trail in Fulton County may travel further on it in the future. Rochester recently approved a bid by E&B Paving to extend the trail approximately eight-tenths of a mile from its current end at a gazebo near Wabash Avenue to the trail running by the Round Barn Golf Club along Ninth Street.

Downtown alleys to get facelift
PERU — ReDiscover Downtown Peru is set to begin “alley activations” in the downtown area, repurposing the areas into pedestrian-friendly areas that enhance the district. ReDiscover Downtown Peru’s Board President, Eric McCoy, said the project aligns with the organizations goal to improve public spaces in the downtown area. The project began with a grant from Indiana Main Street, which allowed the organization to work with a student from Ball State University to explore the historical significance of the downtown area, including how it has changed over time.
Museum Fun Day Saturday, July 27
ROCHESTER — The Fulton County Historical Society is holding a Museum Fun Day from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, July 27. The museum is located at 37 E. 375N, Rochester. This will give members and public the opportunity to learn more about the museum with tours of the buildings in the Living History Village. Food will be available from 2-3 p.m. for members and 3-6 p.m. for the general public.
