A Fallen Hero is Coming Home
DE GREY, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Robert A. Bartlett, a Corporal in the US Army, was killed in a tank battle shortly after D-Day June 6, 1944. His body was badly burned, and his dog tags were nowhere to be found. So, his unidentified remains were buried in Normandy cemetery. However, in May his remains were identified via DNA and so Corporal Bartlett was disinterred and transferred home to South Dakota.

Berry Announces 11 New Wolves To Baseball Roster
Aberdeen, SD (NSUWolves.com) – Northern State University head coach Dean Berry announced 11 additions to the Northern State baseball program today, bringing the 2025 class to 17. Nik Bantle (Saskatoon, Sask.), Lance Behrens (Prior Lake, Minn.), Palmer Boyd (Sioux Falls, S.D.), Hunter Brown (Des Moines, Iowa), Tommy Brown (Roseville, Calif.), Dillon Castellanos (Rocklin, Calif.), Diego Gonzalez (Poinciana, Fla.), Kaleb Hubble (Tucson, Ariz.), Gehrig Larrigan (Yuba City, Calif.), AJ Mendez (Buena Park, Calif.), and Carson Zimmel (Moorhead, Minn.) will join the Wolves this fall.

Good News: Dolphins shine at S.D. State A meet
The Watertown Area Swim Club Dolphins put in an outstanding performance at last weekend’s 2024 South Dakota Long Course State A meet held in Rapid City. The Dolphins placed second in total combined team score, behind the Sioux Falls Swim Team. Aberdeen Swim Club placed third, Rushmore Swim Team fourth and Brookings Swim Club fifth. There were 15 teams competing.
Big Sioux River rescue pig has died
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The runaway pig that captured the hearts of the internet after he was saved from the Big Sioux River has been put down. The piglet, named Eric Jr. by the Falls Park staff, was taken in by Happy Pig Haven Sanctuary on Saturday. The sanctuary had been posting updates on Eric Jr. progress, but let people know on Tuesday that he had to be put down due to health complications.

Changes coming to trophy buffalo licenses in Custer State Park
South Dakota officials are changing trophy bison hunting laws in the sate to allow archery hunting and are increasing the number of licenses available. Trophy bison in Custer State Park will now be allowed to be harvested with a bow. Previous law set by the department restricted hunters to using a high-power rifle.

Familiar name in Rapid City coffee opens new location
