Pier at Roland Cooper State Park to be named for outdoors guru 'Big Daddy' Lawler
The T-pier at Roland Cooper State Park is being named after outdoors enthusiast James "Big Daddy" Lawler. Officials will gather for a dedication ceremony at 10 a.m. Aug. 20 at the park in Camden to recognize the naming for Lawler, who passed away in February. Big Daddy was known for his popular radio and social media show Gettin' Outdoors with BDL.

The Charlottesville Civil Rights Tour made Selma one of its stops for the fourth consecutive year as part of a series of trips to sites important to the Civil Rights Movement.
