Biologists with Game and Parks said they went to Big Indian Recreation Area south of Wymore in Gage County after people fishing reported the fish dead. County historical society sponsoring two speakers next week
The Gage County Historical Society is sponsoring a pair of speakers next week presenting programs on Native American women and life on a 19th-century farm. Nancy Gillis will present "The Voice of Native American Women" at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Beatrice Public Library, 100 N. 16th St. The program includes excerpts from document recording the words of Native women — professionals, artists, activists — dating back to interactions with colonist up to today, exploring how they have spoken out political, social and spiritual settings while passing on their legacies.
