    Press release from Butler Enterprises

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Blue Gill Quality Foods will be relocating to Butler Shopping Center District this summer. Blue Gill originally opened in southwest Gainesville in June of 2011. Blue Gill is locally owned and operated by Tara and Bert Gill, who also own and operate Mildred’s Big City Food and the New Deal Café. Blue Gill will be located at 2917 SW 35th Drive, here at Butler Town Center, and will initially have the following hours of operation: Monday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday closed, Wednesday-Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Dinner reservations are strongly recommended. Blue Gill will offer offsite catering services as well.

Blue Gill will serve eclectic local cuisine with a southern flair, including their beloved fried green tomatoes, buffalo cauliflower, pork rind fried chicken, shrimp and grits, crispy arancini, fried pie, and made-to-order frozen custard. Their new menu will include raw bar items, lobster, and daily specials, along with locally sourced produce, seafood, and beef.  Blue Gill will also offer a full bar with a wide selection of local draft beer, wine, and craft cocktails.

Chef Bert Gill and his family have been longtime major supporters of farmers in North Central Florida and will continue to support locally grown sustainable agriculture at their new location at Butler Town Center.
