Heading into the 2024 season, there is speculation that several SEC coaches, including Florida Gators' Billy Napier. He could be on the hot seat.

Napier has a record of 11-13 in his two seasons at Florida and has yet to achieve a winning record. Performance has declined. In his first year, Florida finished 6-7 and made a bowl game. In the second year, the Gators went 5-7 and did not qualify for a bowl game.

That's putting a lot of pressure on this season. ESPN's Football Power Index predicts that the Gators will finish 6-6 and be ranked No. 11 in the SEC. ESPN's Paul Finebaum believes that the Gators could surprise everyone at the end of the season because expectations for them are so low.

"I think it could be Florida," Finebaum told On3's J.D. PicKell . "By the way, I don't know why I say that because I'm the one that's been asking every guest for the last six weeks, 'What do you think about Florida?' Their expectations might be as low as they've ever been."

Finebaum mentioned that he recently spoke with Tim Tebow, a Heisman winner and former Gator. Tebow told him that in 2009, he walked into the stadium and started crying because the Gators only had two national championships at that time when he felt they should have had three. Finebaum commented that this incident illustrates the high expectations that were prevalent at the time.

Now, Finebaum believes the expectation is for Napier to win seven games. He doesn't think Florida has much to prove, and he feels Florida's season could come down to its first game against the Miami Hurricanes.
