The SEC is home to many programs with storied histories, such as the Alabama Crimson Tide, Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers, Tennessee Volunteers, and Florida Gators. Stanford Steve made a prediction about one of those teams on Tuesday.
Stanford Steve appeared on the Andy Staples On3 podcast to discuss Florida and the team's potential in 2024. The "College GameDay" member clarified that Florida is not similar to Georgia but that a 7-5 finish is still a reality. He said he would not be surprised if Florida starts the year at 4-0.
"I'm not saying they're at the level of Georgia, but Florida could be 7-5 and be way, way ahead of where they were last year," Stanford Steve said." I won't be shocked if they start 4-0. I really won't. I think they have the goods."
Here are the first four games for Florida this season:
Aug. 31: vs. Miami Hurricanes Sept. 7: vs. Samford Bulldogs Sept. 14: vs. Texas A&M Aggies Sept. 21: at Mississippi State Bulldogs
Florida added big names from the transfer portal this offseason, like former Colorado Buffaloes cornerback Cormani McClain, former Arizona State Sun Devils receiver Elijhah Badger, and former USC Trojans offensive lineman Jason Zandamela.
Some of Florida's best commits from the 2024 class included former five-star quarterback DJ Lagway , former five-star defensive lineman LJ McCray , and former four-star linebacker Myles Graham .
Since joining the program in 2022, Billy Napier has yet to finish with a winning record at Florida. He finished 6-7 in 2022 and 5-7 in 2023.
The kickoff time for the season opener with Miami is at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
