There she is, Li’l Miss Illinois. That person is Kynleigh Fox of Galesburg, who was recently named Li’l Miss Illinois 2024 through the Miss Illinois Youth Program.

Fox, daughter of Stacy Dunham, took part in the pageant recently as Li’l Miss Knox County. Fox recently turned 9 years old and will be a fourth grader at Galesburg Christian School. Among the activities she was required to take part included a talent – she danced – and an interview. Fox aced it as she was named Overall Top Interview.

“What an amazing night. I still believe I’m in a dream,” Fox stated on her Li’l Miss Illinois Facebook page. “I am looking for an exciting year."

Fox will have a platform of responsibilities, Dunham, which likely will include giving to the homeless and spreading mental health awareness. She enjoys visiting nursing homes and giving away cookies, her mother added.

Fox attends College For Kids at Knox College and is a member of the Jumpin Js Tumbling team in Galesburg. She is also a competitive cheerleader and dancer.

Lia Barraza Sloan of Galesburg was named first runner-up in the pageant.
