Galion City Council has a vacancy after a member representing the city’s Ward 4 resigned recently.

In a post on social media, Carrie Zeger, who was elected in 2021 , cited frustration with the challenges of serving on the council and the demanding nature of the role as her reasons for stepping down.

Galion communications Director Matt Echelberry said council will follow the law laid out in the Ohio Revised Code when it comes to filling a vacant seat.

“Per Ohio Revised Code, council has 30 days to fill the vacant seat,” Echelberry said.
