The next title, which is currently in development under the codename Polaris, is set to kickstart a new trilogy of games, which – combined with how The Witcher 3’s second expansion, Blood and Wine, ended – many have taken to mean (among other things) a new protagonist to replace Geralt of Rivia, the star of the original trilogy.

He also claimed that while Geralt is part of the game, he has yet to see a script for the game. “We know that Geralt will be part of the game, we just don’t know how much,” he said. “The game won’t focus on Geralt, so it’s not about him this time. We don’t know who it’s about, I’m excited to find out!” The upcoming Witcher title is currently in development at CD Projekt red, with over 400 staff currently working on it. The Witcher series have surpassed 75 million units. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is available now for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
