A family of five on their bikes was hit by a suspected drunk driver in Garden Grove on Sunday night.

It happened in the 12300 block of Haster Street at Twin Tree Lane around 7:30 p.m.

The parents were on E-bikes and their kids were in bike trailers when they were struck by a driver in a black 2003 Toyota Camry. One adult and two of the kids were in critical condition, KCAL reported .

Alex, who lives in the area, told KNX News’ Jon Baird he heard the crash happen.

“I jumped out of my couch and when I saw the whole commotion, I screamed at my wife,” he said. “I told her to call 911 and I just ran down the stairs and…I caught everything.”

He said the dad was bloody while the mom was running around trying to figure out what to do.

“The mom was screaming…she was going back and forth between her husband who was knocked here, and on top of this truck, “ he said. “I guess they slammed him on this truck. His head on the pavement in the wheel and there was blood everywhere here. And then the mom was trying to keep him awake from going to sleep. She gave the baby to our neighbor to hold the baby while she was trying to have two other people help with their other two kids.”

Alex added that a neighbor was holding one of the kids who he described as unconscious.
