Everything You Need to Know About Maine’s New ‘Blue Envelope Program’
The Augusta Police Department announced something new that pulled me in. The Blue Envelope Program is a new program geared towards having a better level of interaction between officers and folks with disabilities or special needs, including down syndrome, autism spectrum disorder, dementia, and even anxiety and depression. The program was created by the Down Syndrome Advocacy Project of Maine.
Massive Halloween Event Returning to Downtown Augusta, Maine
For many Mainers, Halloween is one of the most anticipated holidays of the year. Much like Christmas, it is one of those holidays that changes as we age. When we are kids, we are just excited to be able to get bags of candy. When we are young adults, it is a chance to dress up like we never would and get lit. When we settle down and become parents, we live the Halloween fun vicariously through our children.
