Quarterdeck Seafood Bar & Grill, located at 12310 W Sunrise Blvd in Plantation, Florida, was temporarily closed following an inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation on August 5, 2024.

The inspection at the Broward County eatery originated from a complaint and identified six violations, including four high-priority violations and two basic violations.

The most highlighted concerns included live roaches observed in the kitchen area, specifically noted near the walk-in cooler, where six roaches were spotted on storage racks.

Other high-priority violations highlighted unsafe food storage practices, such as raw animal foods stored improperly above ready-to-eat options in the freezer.

This included raw shrimp stored over sweet potato fries and raw salmon stored over whiskey-squared ice.

These conditions, combined with temperature misuse—where chicken breasts were found held above the safe temperature —prompted a stop sale order.

These activities needed immediate attention, leading to the establishment's temporary closure.

Basic violations further exacerbated the issues, including a lack of covered waste receptacles in the women's restroom and missing handwashing signs at key locations for food employees.

Thankfully, management responded promptly to these concerns, and a follow-up inspection on August 6, 2024, confirmed compliance with health standards, allowing the restaurant to reopen.

Quarterdeck Seafood Bar & Grill, known for its hearty American fare and beach-themed decor, currently holds a 4.3-star rating from 2,328 Google reviews, reflecting its status as a staple in the local dining scene.
