Woman charged with stabbing mother
A Roanoke Rapids woman was charged with stabbing her mother in the face Tuesday evening. The mother was treated and released, Roanoke Rapids police Chief Shane Guyant said. Officers responding to the call around 7:30 p.m. in the 1300 block of Hamilton Street learned that Angela Dorene Mitchum, 42, of Roanoke Rapids, stabbed her mother with a kitchen knife after breaking into her residence.
Police seek two in Prince St. shooting
Roanoke Rapids police are looking for a teen and a 20-year-old man in a shooting which occurred on Prince Street this morning around 11:30. Chief Shane Guyant said Zamarion Scott, 18, and Travis Robinson, 20, both of Roanoke Rapids shot into an occupied residence in the 100 block as the result of an earlier argument.
11-year-old Henrico boy facing nearly 30 felonies for swatting calls
HENRICO, Va. (WWBT) - An 11-year-old boy from Henrico is in custody for threatening to blow up schools in multiple states and threatening mass shootings. Police say a week before school was over back in May, that 11-year-old made more than 20 calls to schools throughout the country claiming schools would get bombed or that a teacher had been shot. Many of those calls to Florida schools, and now, authorities are calling for his extradition.
Milwaukee Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Armed Carjacking in Minneapolis
A Milwaukee man has entered a guilty plea to a charge of attempted armed carjacking that took place last year in south Minneapolis. According to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Andrew M. Luger, the individual identified as William Jones, 32, admitted his involvement in the crime during proceedings at the U.S. District Court on July 23rd.
