Cashie edges Gates in 12U finals
WINDSOR – The Cashie 12U softball all-stars won the District 7 championship here last night (Tuesday) by edging Gates County, 5-4. Cashie, which did not lose a game in the eight-team event that began June 26, advances to the 2024 Tar Heel League State Softball Tournament, set for July 18-21 in Benson.

WINDSOR – After losing their very first game of the tournament, the Ahoskie 10U All-Stars rallied to win the 2024 Tar Heel League District 7 Softball title here last night (Monday). In the championship series, Ahoskie swept both games from the Cashie All-Stars by scores of 2-1 and 2-0.
Conference Carolinas announces the addition of women's flag football for 2025-26
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas announced today the addition of women's flag football as a conference-sponsored sport starting in 2025-26. Conference Carolinas is the first NCAA Division I or II conference to sponsor women's flag football, and second NCAA conference, joining Division III's Atlantic East. The league will have at least six institutions in the inaugural season.
