STOUGHTON —With sectional berths on the line Monday, athletes from Janesville Parker, Janesville Craig and Milton made sure to grab their fair share.

The three schools combined to advance 52 entries (individuals and relays) to Thursday’s Division 1 Beaver Dam Sectional, including all four sectional qualifiers in the boys 100-meter dash and in the boys long jump and 3 of 4 in the boys 200-meter dash.

    Here’s a school-by-school breakdown of those advancing.

    Janesville Parker

The Vikings qualified 21 total entries between its girls and boys teams by 24 athletes, including in all three sprint relays in boys and girls competition.

Parker won the boys regional team championship with 120 team points and four event wins. Parker’s girls were third as a team with 104 points.

Cayden Brandenburg had a hand in three of the boys wins, taking first in the 200-meter dash (22.10 seconds), the 400-meter dash (49.36) and in the 1,600-meter relay (3 minutes, 24.95 seconds). Jayvion Hill also qualified in the open 400 and as part of the 1,600-relay.

Paul Kim also ran in the 1,600 relay and won the regional 100-meter dash in 11.15 seconds. He took third in the long jump at 20 feet, 1.5 inches.

Xander Vallee advanced to sectionals in both the 110 hurdles (16.11, fourth) and the 300 hurdles (42.11, second).

Jeff Rowin made the sectional high jump field, taking fourth with a jump of 5 feet, 10 inches, and Avery Keller and Gavin Flynn took second (13-0) and fourth (11-6), respectively, in the pole vault.

For Parker’s girls, Harper Brandenburg won the 400 in 59.07 and took third in the 200 in 26.75. Like her brother, she anchored the 1,600 relay, which finished second to Oregon but still reached sectionals.

Mya Barnes took second in the 400 and fourth in the 200 behind her teammate.

Mia Riley finished second in the 100-meter dash to Madison La Follette’s Alayna West, and Riley joined with Olivia Schober, Shay Schuh and Violet McCue in both the 400 and 800 relays, where they came in second to Oregon in both.

The Vikings girls team had one field event qualifier in Alivia Olson, who was second in pole vault with a jump of 8 feet, 6 inches.

    Janesville Craig

Three relay winners came from the Cougars tent: the girls 3,200-meter relay and the boys 400 and 800 relays. Those wins were part of 17 total sectional entries for Craig.

Quintin Jackson, Dylan Tyler, Alex Lawton and Levi Booker won the 400 relay in 42.80, and Tyler, Lawton and Booker ran with Ben Hayd in the 800 relay to win that race in 1:29.48.

Booker and Jackson both reached sectionals in the 100-meter dash, as well, while Lawton will run Thursday in the 200 after finishing third Monday.

The girls 3,200 relay team included Kaylie Conway, Addison Fagan, Zoey Ziegler and Julianna Moran. Craig’s boys 3,200 also qualified for sectionals with a fourth-place finish.

Abi Anderson will run in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs at sectionals after winning the first and coming in third in the second. She will be joined by teammates Abi Austin in the 1,600 and Kaitlynn O’Leary in the 3,200.
