Wellsville's Foster resigns as school chief to take top job at Cattaraugus-Little Valley
Wellsville Central School Superintendent Dave Foster is leaving the Allegany County district to take the school chief job at Cattaraugus-Little Valley. Foster has been Wellsville superintendent since 2017. Prior to assuming that post, he was the district's Director of Finance and Operations for about a decade. His other roles in Wellsville included high school assistant principal and a science teacher at both the middle school and high school.

Stephen Leuschel, chief operating officer, Blaine Stebick, chief technology officer and general manager, Phoenix Sintered Metals Galeton, Galeton, and Robert Hayes, vice president of engineering, and John von Arx, director of sales and marketing, Phoenix Sintered Metals LLC, Brockway, along with Wade Farmer, global supply chain manager, Muncie Power Products, Inc., accepted an Award of Distinction in the Industrial Motors, Controls & Hydraulics category of the 2024 Powder Metallurgy Design Excellence Awards Competition.
Olean Oilers Cruise Past the Genesee Rapids
OLEAN, NY — A three-run homer by third baseman Cooper Rossano in the bottom of the fifth inning gave the Oilers a 4-2 lead Thursday in Bradner Stadium. As the home team cruised to a 7-3 victory over the Genesee Rapids, Rosano's homer became the winning hit, run and RBI.

Oilers knock off first-place Rapids, win 2nd straight
OLEAN — The Olean Oilers took down the NYCBL West Division-leading Genesee Rapids Wednesday night, riding a three-run go-ahead home run from Cooper Rossano. Rossano, a third baseman from the University of Albany out of East Amherst, went 2-for-4 in the 7-3 victory at Bradner Stadium. Rossano’s home run gave the Oilers the lead for good at 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth.

The threat of rain brought their performance inside the library’s Nancy Howe Auditorium but it was still a great show.
