WASHINGTON D.C. — Before the world ever heard of LeBron, there was Magic.

Johnson's NBA career was so stellar that even James admits the Laker-great played a huge role in his joining the team. Indeed, with 5 championships and 3 MVPs, Magic Johnson is hands down the greatest point guard in NBA history!

Despite such accolades, not to mention an Olympic gold medal and partial ownership of several Los Angeles franchises, Magic doesn't count these as his greatest feats.

    Why?

Quite simply, in the NFL's storied 104-year history — with over 25,000 players — there's never been a Black principal owner. Zero.

Seventy percent of the NFL consists of Black players. No wonder Jeremy Engle, of the NY Times asked, "Does the N.F.L. Have a Race Problem?"

Ahem, "nepotism" is the word Mr. Engle was searching for... I think.

For the above reason, Magic Johnson told NBC’s “Today” show that gaining partial ownership of the Commanders is “the biggest thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

In short, today marks the 60th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s March on Washington. As for what triggered the historic march, "Jobs and Freedom" read the headline.

Today, Magic Johnson's million-dollar smile reflects taking another step in the right direction of Dr. King's dream.
