Kimball Public Schools restructures to a four-day school week
Monday is the first day of classes for Kimball Public Schools in the panhandle, and it’s also the year the school is trying out a four-day school week. There will be no school on Fridays, something Superintendent Trevor Anderson said will give teachers and students a chance to recharge.
Man gets prison for stealing ashes from Grand Island cemetery
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) - A man who stole two urns from a Grand Island mausoleum in May has been sentenced to prison. Richard Boon, 34, pleaded guilty in June to charges of burglary and prohibited acts involving human remains, according to court records. On Monday, he was sentenced to 8 to 15 years for the burglary charge and 23 to 24 months for the charge related to human remains. The sentences will be served concurrently, or at the same time.
