Tompkins County Emergency service center got a record number of calls Monday
The Tompkins County Emergency Communications Center had what it believes to be the highest volume of calls in a single day on Monday, July 15, due to severe storms. City police department issues scam warning
The City of Cortland Police Department issued a scam warning following a reported incident. According to a Facebook post, city police have been made aware of at least one local resident a victim of a scam. The post stated that the scam involved the individual receiving a phone call from a person that claimed to be employed by city police and “requested financial payment in lieu of being arrested.”

CORTLANDVILLE, NY (CortacaToday) – State Police announce an arrest in an alleged Cortlandville burglary after a months-long investigation. Benny Curry, of Syracuse, is accused of breaking into the Route 281 AT&T store on February 12 and stealing a cash register. Authorities say the 59-year-old smashed the front glass of the business to gain entry. Curry was arrested on Monday while serving time for an unrelated crime in Oneida County.
