Ornston to exhibit in RAL show opening Aug. 23
Delaware artist Liz Ornston will be exhibiting her work in two upcoming art shows in Rehoboth. Ornston has a painting in the Rehoboth Art League’s Regional Juried Biennial Exhibition that runs from Friday, Aug. 23 to Sunday, Sept. 22, at 12 Dodds Lane, Henlopen Acres. A reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Aug. 23.

University of Delaware gets EPA grant to study effects of road salt on freshwater wetlands
Road salt, while good when roads are icy, can be bad for water systems and the critters that inhabit them. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has given $319,382 to the University of Delaware to investigate how the coupled effects of extreme climate events and road salt could undermine the ability of freshwater wetlands to filter and remove nitrogen from runoff.

DOVER, DE - Tess Ferrie scored the first three goals of her Broncs career to lead the Rider University women's soccer team its first win of the 2024 season, a 5-0 victory Delaware State Wednesday night. The Broncs (1-0-1) controlled the match, outshooting the Hornets 32-8 with Ferrie, Courtney Carter and Leonor Alves each finding the back of the net in the victory.
