Home in Tazewell County damaged by fire Tuesday night
TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – A fire in Tazewell County late Tuesday night heavily damaged a home and a vehicle on the property. Pekin Firefighters Local 524 said on its Facebook page that crews were on the scene of a working fire near the intersection of Sheridan Road and Cypress Point, in Country Club Estates between Pekin and Groveland.
Area veterans now have opportunity for ‘flightless’ Honor Flight
PEORIA (25News Now) - The Greater Peoria Honor Flight is giving veterans an opportunity to visit memorials - all without leaving Central Illinois. Dubbed “Operation Penguin,” the Greater Peoria Honor Flight recognizes that there are veterans who may not be able to do the traditional Honor Flight flying to and from Washington D.C.
IDOT is eying a potential Peoria-Bloomington public transit service
The Illinois Department of Transportation wants to know if an express bus service between Peoria and Bloomington is a realistic prospect. A $1.2 million federal RAISE grant will allow IDOT to study the feasibility of connecting the two communities via public transit along the I-74 corridor. That analysis will look at several factors, including the potential route, frequency of buses, schedules and costs.
