    5 adults, 1 dog displaced in Germantown townhouse fire

    MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Montgomery County Fire and Rescue (MCFRS) said a townhouse fire on Thursday morning has left multiple people and a dog displaced on this Fourth of July.

    At around 10:30 a.m., MCFRS responded to the 12200 block of Sesame Seed Court off of Cinnamon Drive in Germantown for reports of a fire.

    According to Pete Piringer, a spokesman for the department, crews were able to extinguish the fire less than an hour later by 11:06 a.m.

    He said that the fire had been in the kitchen and displaced a total of five adults, as well as one dog.
