Montgomery County At-Large Councilmember Laurie-Anne Sayles invites East County and Upcounty residents to attend the first two events in her series of Community Conversations next week. The first meeting will take place on Monday, July 8, from 6-8 p.m. at the East County Regional Services Center, 3300 Briggs Chaney Rd. in Silver Spring. The second meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 9, from 6-8 p.m. at the Upcounty Regional Services Center, 12900 Middlebrook Rd. in Germantown .
Pride in the Plaza Draws Crowds to Silver Spring
The Pride in the Plaza festival drew crowds to downtown Silver Spring on Sunday capping off Pride Month in Montgomery County. The festival included brightly colored clothing, music, speakers, food, drag story hours, and drag duels. Pair arrested for alleged Chesapeake Beach pharmacy break-in
A 34-year-old Montgomery County man and as 31-year-old Prince George’s County man are both behind bars for their alleged roles in the break-in at a Chesapeake Beach pharmacy on June 26. According to court records, Aaron David Dickerson of Germantown is charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree burglary in connection with the alleged break-in at CVS Pharmacy. Marc Yamada Takes Oath as Montgomery County’s 18th Police Chief
Marc Yamada was sworn in as the 18th Chief of Police for Montgomery County on Monday. County Circuit Court Clerk Karen Bushnell administered the oath in the presence of County Executive Marc Elrich and several department executive staff members.
