Public health officials urge Texans to be vigilant in protecting against mosquito bites after confirming the first Texas case of West Nile virus and 10 travel- associated dengue cases this year alone. In Hays county, officials confirmed last week that several mosquito trap samples collected in the Wimberley area tested positive for West Nile Virus. The positive samples were collected from two sites in and around the city of Wimberley on July 11. Palladius Capital Sells 672-Bed Community Near Texas State University
San Marcos, Texas — Palladius Capital Management has sold The Oasis, a 672-bed student housing community located near the Texas State University campus in San Marcos, for an undisclosed price. The company acquired the property in 2022 and completed capital improvements, which included updates to all 240 units and upgrades to the community’s common areas and exteriors. The property was 93 percent occupied at the time of sale and is fully pre-leased for the upcoming academic year. The Oasis offers a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units. Shared amenities include three swimming pools with cabana seating, grilling areas, a 24-hour fitness center, clubhouse, gaming area, 24-hour study rooms and a coffee bar. Chris Epp of Walker & Dunlop represented Palladius in the disposition of The Oasis to an undisclosed buyer.
