Park’s playground to be featured in Little Tikes catalog
PAXTON — Pells Park’s new quarter-million dollar playground has been selected for a “photo shoot” for a Little Tikes catalog. “That’s a pretty big thing,” Alderman Eric Evans, chairman of the Paxton City Council’s city property committee, told his fellow aldermen last week after city officials were advised of the news the week prior.
Hike Middle Fork River Forest Preserve in spring or summer
Middle Fork River Forest Preserve is probably best known for being Illinois’ first International Dark Sky Park. There is a campground, and it’s also home to a camping area, several hiking trails, and an impressive waterfowl management area with a trail through the nearby forest. While I can’t personally attest to the camping experience there, I can definitely recommend the hiking trails.
