PAXTON — One of four candidates interviewed for the top job at the Ford County Public Health Department could be offered the position within a week and hired within three. The board of health’s president, Mike Short of rural Paxton, made those projections Thursday, three days after he led a committee comprised of board and staff members in interviewing the four finalists for the public health administrator’s job — two in person at the health department’s office in Paxton and two remotely via the Zoom app — for about an hour each.
