Refreshed leadoff hitter leads RTC softball team
Kyrie Rinehart returned to the NASA softball field last week after her vacation to Grand Cayman and Cozumel from July 5-12. Her game showed she felt refreshed. Rinehart had four hits with two doubles as RTC beat Spaceballs 14-5 on July 17 at field 1. Batting leadoff the left fielder went 4-for-5 and scored three runs.
Airport hosts youth camp and Moms clinic
Airport High School’s two free summer football clinics drew more than 200 participants from the community to the campus this month. Both events—the Friday Night Lights Youth Camp and Moms Football Clinic—were coached by Airport athletic director and football coach Shane Fidler, along with his team of assistant coaches and Airport football players. All participants took to the field at Eagle Stadium.

Chapin's Cole ready for head coaching opportunity
Chapin – Having worked and learned his craft under some quality mentors, Ryan Cole feels he is ready for his first opportunity as a high school head football coach. Cole was named earlier this spring as Chapin High’s next coach, replacing Justin Gentry, who retired after 14 seasons at Chapin. Cole was Chapin’s defensive coordinator the last two seasons and seemed a logical fit to carry the torch.
