K9 assists in arrest made in Blythewood
BLYTHEWOOD – Following a suspected vehicle theft from an unnamed service station around midnight on Thursday, July 18, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department’s Special Response Team responded to the 100 block of Elton Walker Road in Blythewood around 1 p.m. the next day, July 19, to execute both an arrest and search warrant related to vehicle theft.

Fort Jackson long drive event crowns three champions
World Long Drive ( WLD) Fort Jackson awarded five total championships recently, with the final three coming Monday, July 22—the Open Division, Women’s Division, and Military Long Drive Championship. In the Open Division, World No. 4 Colton Casto (above, center) defeated defending World Champion Kyle Berkshire with a 386-yard drive. In the Women’s Division, Mai Dechathipat out-drove World No. 1 Monica Lieving 317 yards to 311 yards. In the Military Division, Brendan Ridge blasted a 348-yard drive to capture the World Long Drive ( WLD) Military Championship. The World Long Drive World Championship will be held August 8-11 in Atlanta.
