A patient affected by a “data security incident” involving Pennsylvania-based health system Geisinger has filed a class-action lawsuit against the company. The mayor of the Village of Candor, in Tioga County, has been arrested for allegedly stealing from the village’s general fund. An investigationby the New York State Comptroller’s office accuses Mayor Eric Halstead of taking over $23,500 in cash from the village’s general fund from February 2017 to May 2023.
Owego man faces multiple charges after drug investigation
OWEGO, NY (CortacaToday) – A Tioga County man awaits his day in court. Shawn Terry, 50, was arrested by Owego Police last week after a drug investigation on East Main Street. Terry is charged with two counts of felony criminal possession of a controlled substance, and a single felony count of criminal possession of a weapon. Terry additionally faces two misdemeanors of criminal use of drug paraphernalia for scales and packaging. He will appear in court at a later date.
