Country music fans flock to Morgan Hill festival
Thousands of country music fans attended the June 29 Boots and Brews Country Music Festival at the Morgan Hill Outdoor Sports Center. The concert lineup featured Lee Brice, Lee Montgomery, Michael Ray and Dasha. Fans danced and enjoyed cold beverages throughout the afternoon and evening. Vendors sold a variety of merchandise throughout the festival grounds.
Construction update for Union Road between San Juan Hollister Road and SR 156

(KION-TV) -- Caltrans announced Tuesday that they will be temporarily closing a section of Union Road in Hollister for about eight weeks (maximum) to reconstruct the intersection of Union Road and SR 156. South Bay leaders give warning on illegal fireworks ahead of Fourth of July
As many Bay Area residents are ramping up to the Fourth of July celebrations, leaders in the South Bay are reminding people about the danger of illegal fireworks. Gilroy is the only city in the South Bay selling legal fireworks. But they come with a list of restrictions on where someone can use them and how to use them, so no one gets injured or accidentally sparks a fire.

County, city officials seek to create fire district
After the Hollister City Council voted to terminate its fire service contract with San Juan Bautista and San Benito County last month, local officials are looking into the creation of a new fire protection district as part of ongoing negotiations. The existing contracts will remain in effect until March 2025.
