    Southbound 101 reopens in Gilroy after propane truck catches fire

    ( KRON ) — All lanes of southbound Highway 101 were shut down in Gilroy north of Cochrane Road in Santa Clara County after a propane truck caught fire, according to the California Highway Patrol. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire and are mitigating other hazards, according to Cal Fire. The roadway was reopened at around 3:45 p.m.

    Red Flag Warning, heat advisories issued for Bay Area

    Photos from the scene showed what appeared to be a propane truck badly damaged by flames and several propane canisters on a center divider that appeared to have also caught fire.

    There was no immediate word on injuries or what might have caused the blaze.
