    Cinnamon Strips

Are you craving a delectable cinnamon treat? Today, I am excited to share with you my recipe for making these simple and delightful cinnamon strips.

    Ingredients:

    • 4 (10-inch) flour tortillas
    • 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon
    • 1/2 cup of Splenda or granulated white sugar
    • Canola oil for frying

    Instructions:

Stack the 4 (10-inch) flour tortillas and use a knife to cut long strips across one side of the tortillas. Then, cut through them in the other direction to create strips of your desired shape and size. Set aside.

In a Ziploc bag, combine 2 tablespoons of ground cinnamon and 1/2 cup of Splenda or granulated white sugar. Seal the bag and shake it to mix the ingredients well. Set aside.

Heat enough canola oil in a large skillet to cover the strips. You can deep-fry them for a traditional taste or bake them in the oven on a cooking tray for a healthier option. Allow the oil to become hot and bubbly.

Carefully add enough tortilla strips to the hot oil, ensuring the skillet is not overcrowded. Fry the strips for a few minutes until they are puffy, crunchy, and starting to turn brown in spots.

Remove the strips from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain any excess oil.

Place the crispy tortilla strips into the Ziploc bag (adding a handful at a time) and shake to coat them with the cinnamon mixture. Transfer the coated strips to a container.

Repeat the frying and coating process until all the tortilla strips are cooked and coated.

    Serve and enjoy!
