KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — The Knox County Health Department said Monday six children have been hospitalized from a mosquito-borne illness, La Crosse, in the last nine months. "Signs and symptoms can vary widely," said Dr. Megan Edwards, the Public Health Officer for Knox County. "For every one infection, there's probably about 1,000 people who don't have any symptoms. For those who develop symptoms, it's usually fever, lethargy and change in mental status."

Lake levels at several tributary dams lower than normal, TVA says
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Boaters and swimmers at some dams operated by the Tennessee Valley Authority may notice that lake levels are lower than they're used to. The TVA said below-normal rainfall and runoff led to lower-than-normal lake levels at several of its tributary dams. It also said that as water temperatures continue heating up, it will need to release more water from the dams to meet minimum flow requirements. The lakes with below-normal levels are listed below.
