    PND, Illini Bluffs win semifinal games, advance to state championships Saturday

    NORMAL, Ill. (WMBD/WYZZ) — Two central Illinois schools will play for girls basketball state championships after winning semifinal games Thursday at CEFCU Arena.

    Notre Dame made a state finals record-tying 12 three-pointers and beat Wilmette Regina Dominican, 71-25, in a class 2A semifinal. Lexi Baer hit six of those three-pointers and scored 18 for the Irish (33-4), who will play in their first state title game on Saturday at 1 p.m.

    Notre Dame will play Nashville for the class 2A championship.

    Illini Bluffs rallied from a six-point deficit in the fourth quarter to beat Altamont, 60-48 in overtime, of a class 1A state semifinal. Lily Luczkowiak scored 27 points to lead IB (32-4) into its first state championship game.

    Illini Bluffs will play Okawville in the 1A championship game on Saturday at 11 a.m.
