You can swim for free at these New York pools this summer
If you're a frequenter of the city's and state's many public swimming pools, you're by now familiar with the $2 entry fee that most of them ask for. That's, however, changing this summer: Governor Kathy Hochul just announced that the state is completely waiving entry fees at 14 state parks for the rest of the season. The list includes two public pools located in New York City: Roberto Clemente State Park Pool in the Bronx and the Riverbank State Park Pools in Manhattan.

The East Williston Baseball and Softball League had an unforgettable outing at the Mets game on June 14th, even though the much-anticipated parade was rained out. Spirits were high as over 350 attendees enjoyed the evening at CitiField. Families and friends gathered, sharing laughs and cheering on the Mets when the rain eventually stopped, making the best of the unexpected weather. Kids and parents alike enjoyed ballpark treats, took part in fun activities, and even got on the Jumbo Tron to create lasting memories together.

Here is your wrap-up to Herricks Highlander Spring Sports 2024. It’s been a little while since the Highlander’s baseball team made the playoffs and unfortunately, this year was no different. The boys went 2-13 in league games, there were some ugly games, but this team can be competitive next year. A lot of great underclassmen talent is on its way up and the returning players should help this team win some games next season.
Former Wisconsin volleyball assistant coach joins Columbia staff
Former Wisconsin volleyball assistant Angel Agu joined Columbia University as its newest assistant coach on June 28. Agu, a former four-year volleyball player at the University of Dayton, served as a volunteer assistant coach in Madison from 2018-19. In her two years on the Badgers’ sidelines, Wisconsin pocketed eight AVCA All-America awards and amassed a 52-14 mark — including 19 wins over nationally-ranked squads and a staggering 33-7 record in Big Ten play.
