The EMLab at the University of Pennsylvania’s Weitzman School of Design is seeking applications for a full-time research associate as part of its role in the Natural Infrastructure Innovation Project (NIIP) funded through the United States Army Corps of Engineers’ (USACE) Engineering with Nature (EWN) Program. The Environmental Modeling Lab (EMLab) is an applied research unit of the Weitzman School of Design’s McHarg Center for Urbanism and Ecology, specializing in the analysis, simulation, design, and visualization of environmental systems. The EMLab is positioned to work productively with both academic and private-sector partners to expand the role of sensing, simulation, and modeling within contemporary landscape architecture practice, in addition to serving as a bridge between the design fields and infrastructural and ecological engineering.

The 2024 Main Line high school baseball scene was highlighted by PAISAA champion Malvern Prep, who posted a 34-3 record, outscored its opponents 295-76). Other strong teams included Haverford School (19-10), Episcopal Academy (18-12), Friends’ Central (19-8 overall, undefeated in Friends’ Schools League), Shipley (15-8), Haverford High (13-8), Episcopal Academy (18-12) and Radnor (15-10, PIAA District 1 5A tournament runnerup).
VSP Vision Awards Six Scholarships at 2024 National Optometric Association Convention
RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif.—VSP Vision announced that it had recognized six optometry students during the annual National Optometric Student Association Scholarship ceremony, part of the four-day National Optometric Association (NOA) convention held recently in Philadelphia. The celebration honored each students’ leadership and service to the optometric profession. Five students were awarded the Dr. Marvin R. Poston Leadership Award, provided in partnership with NOA in honor of Dr. Poston, the first Black optometrist on the West Coast and co-founder of VSP Vision.
