    Police Reports: Village worker arrested for allegedly enticing minor in Georgia, personal items stolen from visitor of Baha’i House of Worship

    These reports were pulled from the latest police summaries provided by departments in our coverage area (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

    GLENCOE

    April 5

    • Police arrested a Gurnee man who worked in the Village of Glencoe’s Public Works Department in relation to an outstanding warrant out of Roswell, Georgia. The man, 34, reportedly enticed a minor for “indecent purposes,” which according to Georgia law occurs when an individual “solicits, entices, or takes any child under the age of 16 years to any place whatsoever for the purpose of child molestation or indecent acts.” The Village has placed the man on paid leave pending an internal investigation, according to a release from the Village. The release says the man is a maintenance equipment operator and has worked for Glencoe since 2021. He reportedly had limited interactions with the public in his position.

    March 27

    • A bottle of tequila reportedly was stolen from Binny’s Beverage Depot, 85 Green Bay Road.

    WILMETTE

    April 6

    • Earbuds, cash and lipsticks reportedly were stolen from a purse at the Baha’i House of Worship, 100 Linden Ave.

    April 4

    • Twenty-three bottles of liquor reportedly were stolen from Jewel, 1515 Sheridan Road, in Plaza del Lago.

    WINNETKA

    April 5

    • A resident reportedly was scammed out of $4,000 after responding to an emailer purporting to be the resident’s supervisor, purchasing gift cards and sending the gift-card information to the emailer.

    HIGHLAND PARK

    April 6

    • Multiple pieces of jewelry valued at $22,000 reportedly were stolen over an unknown time frame from a home in the 2000 block of St. Johns Avenue.

    April 3

    • A package valued at $160 reportedly was stolen from the front of a residence in the 1600 block of McGovern Street.

    April 1

    • Airpods reportedly were stolen from Gravity Autos, 2772 Skokie Valley Road.

    NORTHFIELD

    No activity reported between April 1-7 that meets The Record’s standards for publication.

    KENILWORTH

    No reported activity between March 29-April 5.
