Glendale Main Library’s StoryWalk has its grand opening next week, with a peacock in a mix.

Stop by the youth department between 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 18 and grab a ticket to join one of the StoryWalk excursions in the library’s Xeriscape garden, 5959 W. Brown St. After finishing the StoryWalk, you can cool off inside the library while completing a fun craft for kids.

The new StoryWalk will be accessible to the public during regular park hours, seven days a week.

On June 18 the story walk was available until noon. The first story will be "Three Hens and a Peacock" by Lester Laminackl.

Promoting health and literacy for children, StoryWalks are an educational activity for the whole family. The story will be changed every few weeks.

This project is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
