Elgin, IL - The Eagles Men's Bowling program is proud to announce two more commitments on this day. First, the signing of Carson Davis. Carson comes to us from Redkey Indiana, and was 3rd at the All-Hoosier Semi State Qualifier. He also was a state qualifier in Robotics, and was a varsity runner on the track team at his high school. Cathy Adduci of River Forest went there last month for a workout – not just any workout, but to participate in the Hyrox World Championships, which organizers call “the world series of fitness racing.”

The Naperville Little League Majors A championship features the minions and PFI Chicago the top two teams in the division. PFI, which also calls themselves “The Turds” are coming off a 7-6 semifinal win to get in this position, thanks to a two run rbi from Aaron Brown. The Minions, featuring players like Gaspar Cho and Declan McCoy, look to end their season on a high note.
NCTV17 Avocados storm back to beat Vai’s Purple Pickles in Supreme A Championship
Naperville Little League Championship action kicks off at Nike Park with Hunter Corp, Anik Arunkumar and the Vai’s Purple Pickles taking on Lucas Murtaugh, Cole Blouin, Gabe Auffant, and the rest of the NCTV17 Avocados. The avocados enter this game with a 15-1 record and went undefeated while playing at Nike Park during the season while the Purple Pickles feature many players on last year’s NCTV17 team, which was runner-up in the title game.

Residential burglary – Police responded to the 200 block of LeParc Circle for a report of a residential burglary. The resident said that someone entered their home between approximately11 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. and took various items. Reports did not indicate what was taken or how entry was gained. The investigation is ongoing.
Big Ten Recognizes 110th Medal of Honor Class
ROSEMONT, Ill. — The Big Ten Conference is celebrating its 110th class of recipients who earned the Big Ten Medal of Honor from their respective institutions during the 2023-24 academic year. Established in 1915, the Big Ten Medal of Honor is the conference’s most prestigious award. It was the first award in intercollegiate athletics to demonstrate support for the educational emphasis placed on athletics.

Naperville Jaycees uses powerful bats to win Juniors A Championship over Mortenson Construction
It’s the final Naperville Little League championship game of 2024 with the Mortenson Construction Laser Sharks taking on the Naperville Jaycees Dragons in the Juniors A title game. The lone championship being played at Knoch Park. Naperville Jaycees tied for the league lead with 12 regular season wins behind team MVP Alex Therapos as well as players like Vincent Drager, Jameson Kanak and Veer Pratap Singh. Mortenson started the season 0-5 before catching fire and going on an epic run to the championship game. Bryce Reed, Jack and Dylan Kane and Lucas Soline help round out an offense that was near the top in the league in runs scored.

Canaries Win Rubber Match to Take Series over Cougars
The Sioux Falls Canaries would win Sunday’s rubber match over the Kane County Cougars at home with a 7-4 victory to claim the series win. The Canaries would do the damage in the sixth and seventh innings as the Birds scored twice in the sixth to take a 2-1 lead and five times in the seventh to get the win. Mike Hart would hit the two run homer in the sixth to push the Canaries ahead and he would double to give the Birds the final tally as four straight men came to the plate and drove in runs in the seventh. Simon Reid hit a three run homer in the ninth for Kane County, but the Canaries would hold on for the win to improve to a league-best 27-16. Pierre’s Spencer Sarringar would have the day off on Sunday, but would still go 3-6 in the series with a triple and homer while driving in five RBI in the first two games of the series.

Outfielder Caroline Jacobsen has signed for the 2024 Athletes Unlimited Pro Softball Championship season. It will be her second campaign with the league.
