A Century of History Eradicated: Texas Megachurch Destroyed in Fire
The red brick walls of First Baptist Dallas Church's historic sanctuary are soot-singed and intact, but only devastation and ashes are found within. At 6:05 pm, the Dallas Fire-Rescue received a call for 1717 San Jacinto street in the heart of downtown Dallas. A second alarm was requested at 6:20 pm. The fire was contained until 7:35 pm when the roof partially collapsed and a third alarm was called. Finally, a fourth alarm was called at 8:14 pm, according to CBS5 News.

Flash flooding closed portion of I-635 in Dallas
DALLAS – Flash flooding Monday morning caused a portion of I-635 to shut down. Westbound I-635 at Garland Road in Dallas was shut down because it was completely flooded. Between 1.5 and 4 inches of rain fell in a three-hour time frame on Monday.Two vehicles were disabled in the middle of the road. At one point, water was up to the windshield of the vehicles.As of 9 a.m. Monday, far right lanes were getting by while crews were working in the road.Texas Department of Transportation cameras showed traffic backed up about five miles. Delays were an estimated hour and a half. Alternate routes included Northwest Highway.
