The Simi Valley Police Department has issued a community advisory regarding several upcoming events scheduled at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in the coming weeks. These events include military aircraft flyovers and gun salutes by the Naval Base from Ventura County, commemorating significant historical events and honoring President Reagan's legacy.

Here is the schedule of events:

Wednesday, May 22: Late afternoon - Three-pass flyover by WWII airplanes. This event serves as a practice run for a future commemorative event.

Monday, May 27: Mid-morning - Flyover by the Tiger Squadron in observance of Memorial Day.

Wednesday, June 5: Approximately between 4:15-4:30 pm - A volley salute consisting of three rounds of three shots each (totaling nine shots) will be performed by Naval Base Ventura County. This salute honors the 20th anniversary of President Reagan's passing.

Thursday, June 6: Between 10 and 10:30 am - Repeat of the three-pass flyover and volley salute by WWII airplanes, similar to the event on June 5. This commemoration is in honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day.

These events are expected to draw attention from residents and visitors alike, as they pay homage to historical milestones and celebrate the legacy of President Ronald Reagan. The Simi Valley Police Department encourages community members to take note of the scheduled flyovers and gun salutes to avoid any confusion or concern.

Residents are also reminded to exercise caution and follow any safety guidelines provided by event organizers, particularly during the flyovers and gun salutes. Additionally, individuals with pets or sensitive to loud noises are advised to take necessary precautions.
