San Francisco Supervisor Joel Engardio has come to the defense of the San Bruno Red Lobster, denouncing recent negative coverage and urging the public to reconsider the restaurant's reputation.

In a candid letter addressing a recent hit piece, Supervisor Engardio shared his personal connection to the establishment, revealing, "I’ll defend the restaurant as someone who worked there as a server. Yup, that’s your San Francisco city supervisor in a fish shirt."

Highlighting the discrepancy between online complaints and real-life experiences, Engardio cautioned against taking negative Yelp reviews at face value. He emphasized, "Cranky people love to complain about everything online. But what you witnessed in real life — a restaurant 'buzzing with diners' on a Wednesday night — demonstrates why the Red Lobster closest to residents in San Francisco and San Mateo county is beloved."

Drawing from his own past and present experiences, Engardio painted a picture of Red Lobster as a cherished destination for families and special occasions. "In present day, I convince my husband and friends to go with me to the San Bruno Red Lobster once or twice a year. I had a great birthday dinner there last year. Red Lobster is nostalgic and fun," he expressed.

Engardio also offered culinary recommendations, praising dishes such as "Walt's Fried Shrimp," stuffed flounder, and crab legs. He couldn't help but mention the iconic biscuits, advising patrons to "be extra nice to your server and they'll always bring piping hot biscuits to your table."

While acknowledging that Red Lobster may not boast Michelin-star status, Engardio affirmed the restaurant's appeal and quality, urging readers to look beyond the stereotypes.
